I just want to be able to pay my bills and enjoy my job, that’s it! Is that too much to ask for?

Anyone know of any career-type job that pays $35k+ that doesn’t require a whole bunch of specialized experience in the field?

So the house I wanted to put an offer on sold today…

Oh and I lost my job.

So we went out searching for a house on Sunday… Only two met my limits apparently… The first one was ugly but the second one was a definite winner… Going to look at a few more on Saturday to see if that one was the one…

So then on Monday they scheduled me to sit reserve in Houston… Basically they pay for my hotel and I sit around until they call me. Well I can see on our computer system when they’re going to call me… and nothing. So my day has been like this:
10 AM: Wake up
10AM-12:30PM: Watch Olympics
12:30PM-1:30PM: Get lunch
1:30 PM-4:30PM: Watch Olympics
4:30 PM-5:30PM: Ride the exercise bike for an hour
5:30PM-7:30PM: Watch Olympics
7:30PM-8:00PM: Eat Dinner
8:00PM-11:00PM: Watch Olympics.

I’m thinking about adding a 2nd hour of bike riding at 9PM or so, and then starting tomorrow doing 1 hour at around 11AM and the other hour around 4:30-5.. 2 hours of the stationary bike should make up for me eating shitty food all week, right?

So I’m completely over this apartment. First it was a major scorpion problem (8 in 2 weeks), now tonight my roof is starting to cave in. And there’s a hole in it.

So normally that isn’t a problem because it’s sunny, but the monsoon ripped through tonight and I think we probably got 1+ inches of rain… Which was dripping onto my rug (now into a dishpan).

I had mentioned water damage on the walls about 5 months ago and they did nothing. It’s a real hassle to get them to do anything. I hate having to deal with all this shit.

This is motivating me even more for a house! I hope the search on Sunday is fruitful.

The job search is continuing with much force.

I have an offer on the table to go back to flight instructing, which sucks, but it’ll pay a little better than I’m making now, although it’ll be a slight slide backwards in career progression.

Still trying to find one that would be a pay raise AND a step upwards in career progression. That’s the tough part.

I’ve started looking for a house. Perhaps it’s not the best idea to start the search right now, but I won’t ever do it if I just sit around and wait. Time for action. Besides, I have a job offer that’ll pay me MORE than I make now, so it shouldn’t be that bad.

I’ve got a short list of about 7 houses that I’m looking at on Sunday, hopefully this will work out!
